CONFRENCE

ASEAN Law Students Conference (ALSC) is held annually, hosted by ALSA members on al rotational basis. ALSC provides a venue for deciding on the work plan, both long and short term, as well as discussion of current regional legal or legal related issues.

To this day, 10 (ten) ALSC has been organised with the following details :

1st ALSC held in Jakarta, Indonesia, 1989
2nd ALSC held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, 1990
3rd ALSC held in Manila, Philippines, 1991
4th ALSC held in Singapore, 1992
5th ALSC held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, 1993
6th ALSC held in Jakarta, Indonesia, 1994
7th ALSC held in Bangkok, Thailand 1995
8th ALSC held in Manila, Philippine, 1996
9th ALSC held in Singapore, 1997
10th ALSC held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, 1998
11th ALSC held in Jakarta, Indonesia, 1999
12th ALSC held in Manila, Philippines, 2000
13th ALSC held in Bangkok, Thailand, 2001
14th ALSC held in  Singapore, 2002

COMPETITON

Aside from the above, a forum which provides an opportunity to enhace additional skill as well as disseminate information is also needed. This forum is realised in ASEAN Law Students Competition which comprise of Debate and Paper Writing Competition.

To this day ALSA Competition has been held twice :

1st ALSA Competition held in Surabaya, Indonesia, 1993
2nd ALSA Competition held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, 1997
3rd ALSA Competition held in Jakarta, Indonesia, 1999.

NEWSLETTER 

As mentioned above, where interactive communication among members is held at least once a year in a formal forum, being ALSC, the existence of other forum or means of communication gap.

Therefore, a form of media is published by the ALSA Secretariat, to provide ALSA members with information on ALSA in general or its activities or other issues of interest.

EXCHANGE ATTACHMENT PROGRAM

Inspired by the coming age of global free flow of professionals, ALSA initates a program for its members to be involved in an internship in other ALSA member countries, particularly legal positions.

This program aimed at providing a global picture of the host country legal system, its work culture, as well as building future networking.

STUDY VISIT PROGRAM

Among its objectives, aside from learning legal education, legal system and academic culture in other member countries this program is also designed to anticipate the possibility of an accredited to visit other universities in other ALSA members and dialog partner countries.

RESOURCE CENTRE PROJECT

This is a long-term program of ALSA which attempts to build a resource centre that could provide various information, including among others the legal system of ASEAN countries: journals, articles and any other valuable information.
